I posted today this photo on my facebook page, and a few questions arise regarding the treatment i did on this photo (HDR, heavy post production ?).

So i decided to do a quick blog post to show the before and after on this picture.

This is the final image after a few global and local contrast enhancements.

I shot this photo a while ago (14th of may 2005), so i dont remember the exact steps of what i did in post. Just as curiosity, i tried to develop the original raw file with Lightroom 4.1, as i was writing this post

Here is the result with very quick adjustments in Lightroom 4 (under one minute of work pushing a few cursors). Not that far from my original post production work.

So the tools we have as photographers are getting better and better and I’m spending less time in postproduction (nowadays developping my photos in Lightroom is enough for me in more than 90% of my work).
